BIOGRAPHY

Ayuesh Agarwal (b.1991) is a contemporary painter and teacher, based in India working in a naturalistic tradition.

 

In his work, he seeks to evoke feelings through stories with personal or allegorical connotations that moves away from the mere representation of a portrait/subject. He is always experimenting with the process of painting, various materials, textures, and applications in search of the innovative trying to incorporate contemporary and modern ideas with classical techniques.

He grew up immersed in video games and his journey began when he discovered the process of making art of video games/movies. His constant desire to improve his craft and to learn led him to study at various academies around the world, where he discovered the works of old masters. From that point, he studied art history diligently and realized the works that inspired him were predominantly representational/ figurative.

​

He has various awards to his credit. Most recently, he won a Gold Medal in the Art Society of India, 2021 competition. His works have been exhibited internationally in the US and Europe and are part of the permanent collection of the European Museum of Modern Art – Barcelona and Art Renewal Centre, New York.
